Destin Fishing Report 07-25-18

Well as I’m sure everyone is aware snapper season is now closed but this by no means is an end to fishing, Destin being what it is we have many, many other species. Take grouper as an example, we have gag grouper, red grouper, yellow edge grouper, scamp and snowy grouper. We have deep dropping for Tilefish, Barrelfish, and Swordfish. Just because Red snapper have closed the opportunities to have a awesome day are there each and every time you leave the dock.

Nearshore Trolling

King bite has become steady fishing natural bottom and wrecks, Bonita seem to be plentiful and there are some schoolie dolphin around.

Offshore Trolling

Surf Fishing

Well its shark week on TV and might as well be shark week at the beach. Most any evening you can find plenty of bull sharks, sand sharks and black tip sharks roaming just off the surf line, try cut bonita, ladyfish or mullet for bait.

Pier Fishing

Tarpon are the favored targets, fish 3-4oz swimbaits or live herring or cigar minnows. A few days this week there were good funs of bonita, hard tails and ladyfish.
