The scattered rain showers throughout the week have muddied up the water making fishing within 3 miles of shore a little tricky. Remember, even as we get into the fall you still need to protect yourself from the sun with sunscreen, performance clothing, and headwear designed to keep UV rays out.
Nearshore: Kings are starting to show up. Within 3 miles the water is still stained by the rain but is clearing up with the change in wind. Closer in there is plenty of bait to catch. Kings and Bonita are starting to show up slowly. to catch them by trolling with Dusters or Cigar minnows on a 3hook rig or Christmas tree.
Troll for Wahoo with a highspeed troller such as Yo-Zuri Bonita or a Halco.
Piers: the water is still tea colored, but with the clearing up some baitfish are coming in. People are catching whiting and some undersized pompano which means if the water clears the keepers are sure to come in. Fish for Whiting with Fishbites. Some Spanish and Ladyfish being snagged after sunset, catch the Spanish with Strawrigs, Gotcha Plugs or Spoons
Offshore: A lot of people finding weedlines and with those weedlines they find dolphin and Tripple tail. Use live shrimp for the triple tails and pitch a (jig) or some Menhaden for the Dolphin. Troll for wahoo with high-speed trollers such as the Yozuri Vibe, the Yozuri Bonita or Halco
Inshore: it has been pretty slow because of the weather. The bay is still stained from the rain. Despite the tea color, reports of Reds and Trout are coming in. Use live shrimp. if you use artificial use a Paddletail, Vudu Shrimp or DOA under a Popping cork.
