PC/PCB Fishing Report 10-22-24
Surf Fishing
The surf fishing has definitely hit the fall pompano run! They are definitely being caught. Often in bunches with some limits.
Whiting, redfish, bluefish, and rays have been bycatches. The pompano have been eating blanched sandfleas. We have those in stock.
Peeled shrimp, the new Ghost Shrimp FishBites, and live or brined ghost shrimp have worked well. The shallow surf is loaded with their holes.
*BRAND NEW* Ghost Shrimp FishBites
Get 'em while they're hot! We now have Ghost Shrimp FishBites to pair with your bait.
In May they handed out samples to try that were actually early batches. Reports were excellent. They tweaked and improved a few things and now you absolutely should be using some on your next fishing trip to the beach.

Bottom Fishing
It has been great, but the weather has been a challenge with wind. Since the hurricanes, there are many shallow reefs producing legal red snapper, red grouper, and porgies, also known as white snapper.
Many red grouper are inshore and cooperative, but those are put of season.
Try live bait if you can find some!
Fish-N-Mate Rake and Spike Carrier
This easy to attach accessory will make your next trip to the beach a whole lot easier! This Rake and Spike holder fits 4 Fish-N-Mate Sand Spikes and a Fish-N-Mate Sand Flea Rake.
Nearshore Trolling
The king mackerel are here! Flat lined cigar minnows early outside the pass around bouys and bait schools, trolling lipped plugs, and duster/cigar minnows trolled outside the sandbar, around wrecks, and over hard bottom.
Bycatches are big spanish mackerel and an occasional blackfin tuna.
Pier Fishing
King and spanish mackerel are doing decently. Early is best. Seas are picking up at times this week and the kings like it sloppy out there. Conditions should improve as the week goes on.
Pompano are doing decently at times. Some redfish, bluefish, and hardtails are also being caught.
Bay Fishing
The trout bite is picking up nicely. Bigger fish are hitting free lined live baits, top water, soft plastics, and various other baits from popping cork set ups to suspending twitch baits.
Offshore Fishing
Wind has limited trips, but should relax a bit. Last word had almost all species trolling and deep dropping cooperative.
There were some good reports on some of the FADs and out further. This included marlin, mahi, tuna, and on the bottom tilefish, various grouper like the yellow edge, and swordfish.
