103 Days of Red Snapper Fishing!

Governor Ron DeSantis announced the record-breaking 103-day 2024 Gulf Red Snapper recreational season, the longest season since the state was delegated management of Gulf red snapper.

This season will include both a summer and fall season which includes major holiday weekends such as Father’s Day, July 4th and the Thanksgiving holiday.

Destin Fishing Rodeo

The Destin Fishing Rodeo began in May of 1948 to bring people to Destin. It worked! Destin shortly became known as a summer tourist destination and “The World’s Luckiest Fishing Village”.  The Destin Fishing Rodeo is the ultimate fishing tournament for salt water anglers of all ages.

The Rodeo founders, people such as Howard Marler, Jewel Melvin and Willie Marler, decided that moving the Rodeo to October would lengthen the tourist season another month. Today the Rodeo is held October 1- 31.

Sea Striker SKF Spot & Kingfish Rig - A double drop rig for Spots, Kingfish and other small to medium size fish. The 1" fluorescent floats keep the boat off the bottom and away from crabs. The rig has #6 plated hooks, a #7 barrel swivel and a large loop for sinker attachment.
