This is a rig you need to know how to make.
With a little practice it only takes about 30 seconds.
Hooks
You can choose your favorite brands of hooks. We recommend VMC, Owner, or Gamakatsu Trebles as those are the true business part of the rig.
For the single hook I just use regular Mustad hooks. I tend to like larger hooks than most people and use #1 or #1/0 hooks.
We sell a lot more #2 or #4 hooks but you can make that choice.
Wire
For most Kings and regular size Mahi I use 40lb wire.
For bigger baits when targeting tournament size Kings I use 60lb wire.
If making even larger rigs for live baiting wahoo or big mahi offshore on grass lines or at the fads I use either 90lb or 135lb wire. I also increase the size of the treble to a 2/0.
You can make the same rigs out of 50lb Fluorocarbon and do all the rigging the same for blackfin tuna fishing!
Shirts, Sleeves, and Swivels
As for skirts there again that is your choice. My favorites are pink/prism, solid prism and blue/prism.
Chose sized for the leader size you chose.
These rigs can be used for slow trolling live baits or flat lining while bottom fishing. Many times kings, mahi, tuna, and cobia will to check out the boat especially if you are chumming!
