Navarre Fishing Report 11-17-22
It's going to be a chilly few days with some stronger north winds this weekend. As we all know that can fire up the bite or completely shut it down. For all you kayakers, it should make the surf flat for you to get on out and try your hand at some blackfin tuna or bonita. Keep an eye on the swells and make sure you bundle up.
Pier Fishing
Things have slowed down a bit. Bull reds, bonita, blackfin tuna, whiting, and pompano are being caught. Be sure to bring an assortment of rods and tackle to be ready for whatever is running through at the moment. Fluke tail soft plastics, gotcha plugs, diamond jigs, and hex head jigs are always a good thing to have on you. With this cold front coming through small size 4 hooks or sheepshead jigs with some live fiddler crabs will help you get them to bite. Make sure to have some lightweight fluorocarbon for the sheepshead.

Surf Fishing
June grass seems to like to stay around this year. Even in November we are still having it out there and making it difficult to reel anything in. Each day seems to be different so give it a shot and see how it is doing. It does seem to be staying patchy, so look for spots that might be more clear than others. Pompano, redfish, and whiting are still running the surf. FishGum and FishBites seem to be doing the job, you can tip it with a piece of fresh dead shrimp too.
Inshore Fishing
Things have slowed down with the water temps cooling down. Mangrove snapper and black drum have been hanging around the causeway bridges and if you head towards Fort Pickens or Bob Sikes Bridge they are still biting down there too. Sheepshead should also being hanging around those structures. Redfish are hanging around the Pensacola pass, live minnows seem to be working the best but larger live shrimp will also work too. Trout seem to have started moving up into the rivers and canals. If you try some of the northern canals in the sound you might get lucky enough to still snag one up.

Offshore Fishing
It has definitely been a hard one with all this wind, the swells have been rocking so be ready. With that said, the bite is still doing good. We have one more weekend coming up of red snapper and we hope that weekend turns out to be beautiful for everyone to get their limit. Lane snapper did just get closed on the 15th of this month, so be sure to throw those back. Troll some mackerel tree rigs on the way out to see if you can get on some bonita or blackfin tuna. Ruby red lips flylined off the back of the boat will help you get some bigger amberjack bites. We have some whole squid in stock if you want to try dropping those for some grouper activity or the red snapper once those are opened again.
