PC/PCB Fishing Report 10-24-25
Bay Fishing
Get them NOW! Wait what? The trout and redfish are eating big time in the bay. Live bait or a good artificial presentation will be more accepted! What does that mean? It means find the likely areas and you should get fish! Get out there!
In the pass currently, there are redfish and black drum working the bottom and the jetty rocks! Work a live bait deep and drifting or on the rocks work a fiddler crab, shrimp, or a small live bait to get some slots. Oversized reds are notorious in the deep water once you find them. They are eating big time!
You can still get spanish and bluefish up top, but some wary sheepshead are there and could also be caught by reducing your visibility! It is time to go. Come in to the store if you need guidance, a little or a lot. We help all!

*BRAND NEW* Ghost Shrimp FishBites
Get 'em while they're hot! We now have Ghost Shrimp FishBites to pair with your bait.
In May they handed out samples to try that were actually early batches. Reports were excellent. They tweaked and improved a few things and now you absolutely should be using some on your next fishing trip to the beach.
Surf Fishing
Kinda simple! The migration is ON! Find areas with no or little June grass. This weeks waves helped a bit, but scouting is on you. It changes. The east end of the beaches from the county pier has been more clear if you need a place to focus upon.
FishBites, sandfleas in combo or separately have worked. Successful anglers have used FishBites, sandfleas, and peeled dead shrimp to catch pompano, whiting and some redfish. The typical pattern is working. Early, you can catch them a bit off the beach to over the bar, but after dark they tend to come inside the bar and focus on deeper areas, or “holes”.
After dark can be a whiting bonanza with a redfish surprise. The whiting generally like a peeled shrimp type of bait in the hole, redfish too. A great way to score a redfish is to do a rig with a finger mullet. Butterfly it a little on both sides to put out scent. If calm, a Carolina rig works well with a 2oz weight. A lot of reds in the surf are slot sized to just over often.

Fish-N-Mate Rake and Spike Carrier
This easy to attach accessory will make your next trip to the beach a whole lot easier! This Rake and Spike holder fits 4 Fish-N-Mate Sand Spikes and a Fish-N-Mate Sand Flea Rake.
Pier Fishing
The short answer is the volume was not great, but the quality went up! Big fish are on the doorstep! King mackerel catches were not crazy, but the size on some went up over the 20lb mark. We get big kings in our Fall run. They return West to East. Why does that matter? Look West for clues. The biggest clue that tells us we are about to be in the run is that there was a 54lb king mackerel weighed this week in the Destin month long fishing tournament. That fish would win 98% of tournaments! That fish means the big fish are migrating. The end of the pier will be busy with live baits, flatlines, and casting plugs.
In closer to the beach there have been some spanish, bluefish, and redfish in close, but wary. There have also been some sheephead around the pilings, but they look closely at your offerings like shrimp and fiddler crabs. Go as light as possible with lead, fluorocarbon, and small hooks.
Pompano fishing was not hot in reporting, but it is time. Get out there early and setup around the 1st sandbar. Pompano are about to go off! Get your pomp rigs, FishBites, sandfleas, jigs and do NOT for get your polarized sunglasses! We have the budget ones, but upgrade to a pair of Costa, or Bajio sunglasses to gain an advantage over the fish!

Bottom Fishing
We are under a rough North wind. Fish close if you can or get bouced a bit.
Now, the bite is so good if you can find a window! Everything from all snappers, some grouper, and vermillion are absolutely eating it up! Watch the weather and have the boat hooked up to jump when it is time!

Reamaining Red Snapper Days:
October 24-26, 31
Novemeber 1-2, 7-9, 11, 14-16, 21-23, 27-30
December 5-7, 12-14, 19-21, 25-28
Nearshore Trolling
Big king mackerel are migrating to the East. A 54lber was caught in Destin this week. Bigger fish were caught on the piers a bit this week. Want a big king? Go!
Flatlining, or trolling will work if you are near them. Big fish will eat a cigar minnow trolled on a duster, but the love a big hardtail over a likely spot. Flatlines at sunrise outside the pass work well too! Remember, let it run on light to no drag for 4 to 5 seconds, so the king gets to hook. Tighten up before, and bye bye fish! There have also been a bycatch of blackfin tuna and a number of sailfish have shown themselves as well.

Offshore
It is exceptionally good for all species. Wahoo and Mahi are closer and cooperate in some non-blue water! Drag some of our high-speed plugs like the big Mad Macs. We can rig it or a Yozuri for you in the store with mono, wire, or however you prefer for a slight extra charge, but is ready to fish as you walk out!
