PC/PCB Fishing Report 10-24-25
Bay Fishing
Unfortunately, there was some red tide detected around the Hathaway Bridge. Hopefully it remains low. If the fish are acting less than lively do not keep them. Other
areas of the bay tested were not as bad. There have been fish all over the bay feeding on baitfish. Redfish on the grass flats during the day, especially on sunny days with a hightide.

*BRAND NEW* Ghost Shrimp FishBites
Get 'em while they're hot! We now have Ghost Shrimp FishBites to pair with your bait.
In May they handed out samples to try that were actually early batches. Reports were excellent. They tweaked and improved a few things and now you absolutely should be using some on your next fishing trip to the beach.
Surf Fishing
Now is the time! The storms of last week created waves on the beaches to clear out some of the stubborn June Grass remaining in the trough between the bars and
sometimes scattered in the shallows. Find the clear areas early and late and you should be able to catch some fish. Live fleas have been a bit less in the surf due to
cooler temps so take some of our shrimp and peel them for both whiting and pompano. Adding a small thumbnail sized piece of Fishbites will help as well. Look for the cuts in the bar and deeper spots inside the bar. Those deeper spots inside the bar tend to attract whiting at night to avoid predators. Once you find them there are usually a few. Whiting love peeled shrimp and they make the BEST fish tacos! Scout the area before the sun gets to high so you can see where the clear areas
are and return to fish those spots that afternoon or evening or the next morning.
Consider a quality pair of sunglasses to help you see into the water. We have Costa, Bajio, and some othe higher end brands and to me they are worth it. If you are on a budget, Calcutta make some decent, more affordable polarized glasses. These will help you more than you know and are good for your eyes. Bajio are made with the help of the an original Costa guy. Costas are good, I have several pair, but I have 2 pair of Bajio and they are more durable and I believe they are just as clear, or clearer. Come in a try a pair out! Sunglasses are a very personal choice due to your vison, and your head’s size and shape. Try before you buy!
Fish-N-Mate Rake and Spike Carrier
This easy to attach accessory will make your next trip to the beach a whole lot easier! This Rake and Spike holder fits 4 Fish-N-Mate Sand Spikes and a Fish-N-Mate Sand Flea Rake.
Pier Fishing
The fishing has been good and bad. some days there were a few kings caught, but not like other seasons. There were some good spanish days, and early anglers are getting some slot reds up near the surf zone and fist sand bar or trough. Later in the evening they tend to go a bit shallower, but early and during the day they are mostly somewhere in the trough zone.
Water temps have dropped to the critical 72-73 zone that makes kings uncomfortable and migrate south. We should bonce back and have a bit more time, but 72 degrees over time can send them down south until late April or May next year.
Bottom Fishing
Red snapper and other fish are moving more in to accessible distances and many aglers have not been out due to high winds and weather. The weekend and early week
looks good. The days you can keep them are coming near. Note Tuesday 11/11, Veteran’s Day is open! That is a Tuesday! That might be a great day to go out without pressure from others if you can swing it. Lots of vermillion, still some mangrove snapper and red grouper. The vermillion tend to really stay around the 100 ft mark and deeper so consider that. Vermillion can save the day if the bite is off and you are deep enough to have the option.
RED SNAPPER OPEN DATES REMAINING:
October 24-26, 31
November 1-2, 7-9,11, 14-16, 21-23, 27-30
December 5-7,12-14,19-21,25-28
Nearshore Trolling
Big king mackerel are migrating to the East was the word a week ago, but we have had a big temp drop in the water. We are approaching the magic 72 number. If that number is hit and sustained, the kings head south. Now is the time to get them! There are also some spanish mackerel to get at times, but not super widespread.
Offshore
Not many reports this week, but the weather was a big factor. Lots of reports the prior week of great catches of wahoo not too far out and not as clean of
water! Some blackfin tuna and a few yellowfin. Mahi were still active as well.
