PC/PCB Fishing Report 9-29-25
Bay Fishing
The fishing was good. We finally got some needed rain and that will help a bit with cooling the water and keeping the bite going. Lots of bait around and we are steering into a Fall pattern. Many fish will be gorging on these bait schools. Find the bait and the fish might very well be near.
Good reports of redfish around both the Hathaway Bridge and Tyndall Bridge. There are also some mangrove snapper hanging out there as well.
Some anglers have run into schools of spanish and bluefish working around the deeper edges of grass flats. We also had similar reports around the pass for the same species.
We are starting hear of more and more flounder catches so maybe some fish are starting to move a bit. We only have until mid October to get the flounder.

*BRAND NEW* Ghost Shrimp FishBites
Get 'em while they're hot! We now have Ghost Shrimp FishBites to pair with your bait.
In May they handed out samples to try that were actually early batches. Reports were excellent. They tweaked and improved a few things and now you absolutely should be using some on your next fishing trip to the beach.
Surf Fishing
Same old worn out tune! Too much June grass. The good news is if you find clean water you can get pompano, whiting, and redfish. You may catch some spanish mackerel, bluefish, and lots of baby sharks if you stay after dark.
The grass is mostly on the bottom, so try fishing a medium sized popper like the Chug Bug, or other options various manufactures. The trick is not too small so it will cast fairly far, and not so big that the fish pass on it. Put a piece of 40lb mono on for a leader and wade out to the first bar early and late. Fan cast it and enjoy the topwater bites! Being on top should keep you out of the grass since it mostly laying on the bottom. Best times are very early, and late afternoon.

Fish-N-Mate Rake and Spike Carrier
This easy to attach accessory will make your next trip to the beach a whole lot easier! This Rake and Spike holder fits 4 Fish-N-Mate Sand Spikes and a Fish-N-Mate Sand Flea Rake.
Pier Fishing
The bites actually slowed a bit and the bait was harder to catch as well. Angler's were predominantly catching smaller king mackerel and some decent sized spanish mackerel.
There was a report of a sailfish being hooked. Closer in to the beach was super grassy and basically unfishable for everyone.

Bottom Fishing
The amberjack season was closed this weekend and will remain closed until next Fall. The red snapper bite is still good and limits are still common.
Some anglers have run across some sargassum patches that have been loaded with mahi. Some of those are of decent size as well so check those floating patches! Also be ready since they may find you while bottom fishing as well.
The red grouper bite has been really good! Overall, it has been a great red grouper year!
Out deeper there are some nice scamp as well. Throw out a flatline wth a live cigar minnow and you may get a king mackerel as well. If you get lucky, a blackfin tuna or two could find there way to your boat as well as a sailfish.

Reamaining Red Snapper Days:
October 3-5, 10-12, 17-19, 24-26, 31
Novemeber 1-2, 7-9, 11, 14-16, 21-23, 27-30

Nearshore Trolling
The king mackeral bite slowed a bit, but it will be better. It is still early into the Fall run and more and more will be making their way to our area. A number of anglers have gotten some blackfin tuna, and there are some sailfish in the area actively feeding.
Along the outside of the sandbars there are some schools of spanish mackerel, especially early in the morning.

Offshore
The wahoo bite has definitely picked up. Multiple reports of folks getting them in closer and in not perfectly blue water. The fast running Nomad and Rapala plugs have had the best results with some kings getting in on that action as well.
There have also been some blackfin tuna, mahi, and yellowfin tuna reported.
