Destin Fishing Report 2-15-26
I can’t believe it’s Feburary already and then we are already half way through the month.
This past week was very pleasant and definitely a fake spring. We have another cold blast in March and one in April but hopefully we start to have more and more of the nice days.
Conditions this week were nice as far as the seas which allowed much more activity but this coming week looks fishable but a bit bumpy.
Just a reminder the emerald coast boat and lifestyle show is March 6th-8th at pier park in Panama City. All things boating and fishing as well as live music and good eats!
Pier Fishing
They continue to get flounder, whiting, and pompano.
While they have not caught any spanish or snook both have been spotted on the underwater pier camera!

Surf Fishing
Surprisingly there have been several reports of anglers getting limits of pompano on Fishbites, Fishgum and sand fleas.
This is early for this especially being as cold as it has been. Add to this a few reds, black drum and sharks.

Bottom Fishing
Some really nice catches if scamp, black snapper, and vermillion snapper.
While I did see some triggers not as many as previous weeks.

Deepwater Bottom Fishing
Several swordfish hit the docks this week, a few snow grouper and really nice scamps in the area of the steps.

Offshore Fishing
Fads 5-8 are in respectable water but averaging 69° water. Fad 6 seems to have the most life with bonita, a few mahi, and occasional wahoo. Fads 1-4 the water is mostly green.
South and east of the Ozark is the bluest patch of water and has been producing a few wahoo.

Bay Fishing
Occasional spanish action in the bayous and around the Fort Walton bridges.
Sheepshead are pretty steady on the falling tide around the Destin Bridge and jetties.
Trout and reds have been exploring the sand holes in the shallows looking for shrimp, crabs and minnows. Choose small light lures accordingly and fish them very slow.
